My Approach

I combine a number of different theoretical approaches in the way I work.  I encourage clients to develop capacities in reflection and mindfulness, whilst focussing on self acceptance and compassion.

We'll explore your difficulties in more depth,

finding possible connections to what you might have learnt (patterns of response) in the past and work together to try to open up new choices in your way of approaching life as well as relationships in general.

We'll use the initial session to get a sense of the issues that have brought you to therapy and how to best address them together.  It will also be an opportunity for you to see how you feel about us working together.  We will then have a review after 6 sessions to assess the changes you've made and decide if longer term and deeper exploration would be appropriate.

I have a BA Hons in Integrative Relational Counselling (accredited by BACP) and have further training in a number of specialities including mindfulness, trauma and Transaction Analysis.  I also work as a specialist mentor to university students with a mental health condition.
